Fall Black Bear Season was a Success

With our 2016 fall black bear season in the books, we are happy to report that we had another fun season of hunting here in western Wyoming along the Greys River. As always our hunters enjoyed the great accommodations and home-cooked food at the Box Y Lodge. But most importantly, we were able to take some beautiful color-phase black bears.

As we like to mention, this area of Wyoming is known for producing predominantly color-phase bears and this season didn’t disappoint. As you can see from the photos, our fall bears had beautiful coats and provided our hunters opportunities at unique black bear trophies.

This is always a laid back hunt and one that’s a lot of fun for our hunters and our guides. With plenty of down time for fishing, hiking and exploring the area south of Jackson, Wyoming, this hunt provides both a relaxing trip and some outstanding black bear hunting.

The weather this season was perhaps a bit warmer than usual. But the one consistent thing about weather in September here in the Wyoming high country is unpredictability. You never know what you’ll get and it can bring just about anything. So with warm temps and sunny days, we weren’t complaining.

Here are a few photos of the black bears that we took this season:
