HUNTER REFERENCES : IN THEIR OWN WORDS
Every year we receive many positive comments about the SNS hunting experience from our hunters. Read what some of our hunters from last season had to say about their hunting trip with us:

Sy, Just got home to Michigan yesterday afternoon. A 20 hour drive straight home. I was too tired to write you yesterday or I would have.

My brothers, Doug and Drew, and I just hunted with Ken in area 72 for Antelope. I, unfortunately, had to fly in midday of the first day of the hunt, but I was excited to be hunting antelope with my brothers out West and would accept whatever consequences my engagements brought me. So there I was. Exhausted. Excited. Anticipating.

The first thing that struck me on the ride to the Ranch (Diamond…?) was the ease that Ken apparently has fit in with my family. Hey, we're a tough but friendly bunch of folks and Drew and Doug seemed to genuinely enjoy being around him. Doug had already shot an SCI antelope and taken it to the butcher before they had come to pick me up from the plane. We laughed and joked and talked about the vastness and beauty of the Casper, Wyoming, area as we rode to the Ranch. Once there I took a breath, smelled the sage, met our cook, Cindy, zeroed my .25/06, sat down and said, "If I sit…I will sleep. Let's go find some goats." My brothers agreed and Ken obliged. Off we went.

Drew stalked an antelope and Ken used some great "hunter common sense" to draw the goat within range, but the goat was on the wrong side of the fence and wouldn't cross. We left him. A book buck. After more riding I spotted a "freak" buck that had horns that were laid to the side and not perfectly symmetrical. Ken confirmed my thinking when he said, "If anyone wants unusual…shoot that buck." Brother Drew passed on him and I was already in love with the prospect of stalking this huge, freak-of-nature buck, my first Antelope stalk. Ken and I jumped out and sat on the ground. After a few minutes we moved very slowly and very purposefully as the buck spotted us and ran across our gulley to another ridge. Ken knew that I had asked for a "closer" shot, partly because of eye limitations and partly because I love the "hunt" of the animal, so he made sure we moved in on the group of goats. After the Goat crossed the gulley and ran up the hill after several does he made a final, and fatal, decision to look back at us. Ken said, "Shoot him" and after some fancy "dancing" with my tripod and getting my eye to focus in the sunlight, I shot the buck cleanly at approximately 150 yards.

High Fives followed. Ken let me walk to the animal alone. I was overcome by exhaustion (38 hours with no sleep), thankfulness (my Dad would be so damn proud of me), pride in my accomplishment, and respect for an incredibly beautiful specie of animal. Tears of appreciation trickled. What an amazing hunt. What a dream come true.

Ken, Guy, and some anonymous Guide at the Pat's Meat Processing, all said it's a potential ''Booner", maybe even an "all-time" list contender. I guess we'll see. My brother Drew followed up with two great stalks on 'lopes the next day and finally ended his hunt by killing the buck he wanted at 310 yards with one shot. He thoroughly enjoyed himself.

I just wanted to let you know how thankful I am for the service you provide. How thankful I am for Ken. For Cindy, Guy and Troy. They made our camp. This experience will never be forgotten. I'll never forget Ken walking to my buck and saying quietly to me, "Oh my God. That is a 'Booner.' You've done good." For Guy pulling me to the side and saying, "140 hunters seeing thousands of antelopes each and all of them are looking for what you have shot." All of it. Every moment has engrained itself into my memory. My brothers and I did this hunt in memory of my Dad who died a couple years ago. I believe he would be incredibly proud of me and my brothers for our time together and our hunting ability. He would also be very thankful to you and Ken for all that you've done.

Please let me know when the "Freak" gets scored. I had no expectation of B&C when I went out there but what a thrill to think I might be in that prestigious Book. Also, I want to give my HIGHEST appreciation for Ken. He did an amazing job with all three of us. I'm sure he has stories from our last day and hopefully, some from our hunt together on the first day, but his demeanor and understanding of people will serve your business VERY well. He deserves to be recognized.

Thank you again and I look forward to hearing from you when it's convenient.

Sincerely, Dean Dostal

Sy, I just returned from your combo (Mule Deer I Antelope) hunt #2. Thank you VERY MUCH for putting such a great hunt package together. I have never enjoyed myself so much on a hunt. Benny, the Alabama mafia, and Mark my guide, were prefect hosts. They made me feel like they were neighbors & I had known them all of my life.

The camp facilities were far above what I expected. The food was great & there was a lot of it, thanks to the efforts of Rick. I couldn't have asked for a better, more knowledgeable and patient guide than Mark. He was amazing, he knew the ranch like the back of his hand, where the game was and what they would do, he had eyes like an eagle when it came to spotting game and could walk the legs off of a marathon runner (which he demonstrated a couple of times).

The ranch (I hunted area #7 for antelope and everywhere for deer) had an abundance of mature / trophy game, we saw shooter animals every day. And on top of everything mentioned, I filled both tags with very respectable animals. If you want to use me as a reference, I would be glad to do so.

Thanks,
Gary Kovacevich

Dear Sy,
Ryan and Steve would like to respond to your survey about our recent Trophy Antelope Hunt together, since our experiences were essentially the same, and hopefully we will answer the questions thoroughly.

We could not be happier with the hunting experience we had with SNS this year. This was the third outing with SNS for Steve and the first for Ryan.

First off, the communication we received about the timing of the license purchases, the updates and reminders throughout the year about our upcoming hunt, and the clarity and accuracy of the brochure really made the preparation for our hunt very manageable and gave us a clear set of expectations.

Next, we can't say enough about Michael O'Leary. It's really more appropriate to call him our host rather than our guide. He called us well before our arrival to introduce himself and make sure we were all on the same page. He not only picked up Ryan at the airport, but he also escorted our entire hunting party to lunch and to the rifle range, and then eventually to dinner that evening prior to our first day of hunting.

We asked for our hunt to include hiking to the game, spot-and-stalk hunting, and little in the way of truck hunting. Boy, did we get what we asked for! It didn't hurt that we had glorious weather either. Mike stocked us with great trail food and plenty of drinks, and we both bagged trophy bucks on the first day within minutes of each other. The quality of our trophies really came down to Mike's keen eye and his coaching us to be patient for the right one. Our doe hunt the following day was text-book, and it also included plenty of hiking and even some coyote calling for fun.

It would be an understatement to say that we were completely satisfied with every aspect of our hunt. Mike is clearly a professional and a gentleman. It really makes for a thoroughly enjoyable experience when the guide makes intelligent conversation, shares the same passion for hunting and the outdoors with the hunters, and conducts himself in an ethical manner. Mike is an outstanding representative of all that's right with hunting in Wyoming, right down to his sweet truck! We got way more than we expected.

The switch to Best Western for Town Hunts was also a good decision. It's very clean and comfortable and the rates are very reasonable.

We both want to thank you for raising the standard of hunting excellence in Wyoming for those of us from out-of-state. It really makes us wonder if there is any reason to go for big game anywhere else!

Very Sincerely Yours,
Stephen Yates
& Ryan Harvey

Sy, I want to truly thank you for all of your efforts on my behalf. S-N-S Outfitters is tops in my book. Your camps are fantastic. They are clean, comfortable and always well maintained. Camp staff and cooks are the best in the business. Your game management practices continue to impress me even after more than 20 plus years of observing them.

It has been my privilege to have hunted most of your camps in the past. I have not had a single complaint on any of my hunts. The quality of your ranches is exceeded only by the quality of your guides. It is very comforting as a client to know that I will always have an experienced, knowledgeable guide who I will also enjoy being with on my hunts. Guy Palmquist will always be my favorite as he is like a brother to me, but all of your guides are great. The stability of your business is unheard of in the hunting industry.

On my most recent hunt with S-N-S, I was able to harvest three tremendous animals in less than three hunting days. My antelope was my all-time best. My 4X4 mule deer and 6-point elk would thrill nearly any hunter. I will be eternally grateful to the three Davids who stepped up to help me on the last day of my hunt. Dave McKnight giving up his last day with his wife before shipping out to the Middle East to guide me speaks volumes about the dedication of your guides. David Dandridge caping out my elk by flashlight so that I could get back to work will not be forgotten.

Sy, I have been blessed to have hunted nearly every species throughout this hemisphere. I will continue to cherish my hunts with S-N-S most. I will continue to recommend and endorse S-N-S because I know that hunters can depend on you for quality hunts, great animals and fantastic staff. I hope to continue hunting with you for another 20 years.”

God Bless, James Sanderson

"
Sy, I just returned along with my friend Terry Smith from your Two Trophy Antelope Hunt and wanted to pass along how we felt about our experience with your crew.

Our guide was Brad Adels and we could not have asked for a better person to hunt with. Brad made our hunt a very good hunt and a very enjoyable hunt. We each are very happy with the animals that we were able to harvest and with the ease that Brad made the experience. With us being new to Antelope hunting Brad had his hands full and was up to the task to make our hunt successful.

The rest of the guys in camp, Benny, John, Mark, Rick, Jimmy, Troy and Rick the chef were all great to be around and helpful if anything was needed or something we had a question on. The food was excellent and plenty of it.

We both hope to come back some day and hunt additional animals with your outfit and will recommend you to our friends and anyone that we speak with.

Thank you for all of the pre-hunt information that was provided and a wonderful experience hunting in Wyoming for the first time.

Sincerely,
Gary Elza

Sy, Just a short note on my hunt and a big THANK-YOU for the once in a lifetime hunt. I will include the score sheet on the BOOMER of a buck that we took on our hunt.

Just to let you know I have been on a few guided hunts, I was very impressed with your operation. You presented me with a number of bucks to choose from, never feeling pressure to fill our tags unless we wanted to. After you spotted this buck we started our pursuit of the boomer of a buck. With you planning and giving us our assignments we set out on our 3/4 to one mile uphill hike after him, which you did not let me glass him out (less chance of buck fever, good idea). Some guides would have walked or ran me into the ground in pursuit of this buck, but you seemed to be able to tell when a break was needed, I was very impressed. You stayed calm and collected which kept me calm even after the shooting sticks broke, fogged up scope, and I ended up shooting off of a twig on a tree.

One shot at 172 yards the deer down we were done, I had my buck of a lifetime. I still was not sure what we had except you said he was a BOOMER not until we walked up on him WOW what a buck. Again THANK YOU for your professionalism, getting us our assignments for our pursuit, and for not walking me in the ground on our pursuit of the buck of a lifetime. What a memory!!

Thank You,
Kevin Rabern
