Most elk areas in Wyoming reserve the September elk rut for archery hunting. Starting in 2026 we will be offering an outstanding September elk hunt. Our hunters can now hunt with a rifle during the peak of the elk rut.
Adding to our current two wilderness camps a third camp with a rifle season starting September 20 will be available for our hunters. Elk hunters agree, the thrill of hunting elk during the bugle season is the pinnacle for avid elk hunters. Most rifle elk hunters never get to experience the thrill of hunting rutting bulls.

September 29-October 3, 2026
October 8-12, 2026
Each hunt includes:
Five full days of pursuing rutting bulls
A pack-in day prior to the hunt
A pack-out day after the hunt
Together, this creates a full week immersed in one of Wyoming' most breathtaking elk habitats.
This hunt is based in our traditional wall-tent wilderness camp, accessed by a two-and-a-half hour horseback ride into the famed Teton Wilderness of the Bridger-Teton National Forest. This region is home to the historic Jackson Hole elk herd, one of the largest and most iconic herds in the West.
Each day begins before dawn with strong coffee and a hearty breakfast as horses are saddled in the dark. We ride out under the stars, listening for distant bugles as the forest wakes. Hunters can expect long days, rugged country, and high reward.
After a full day of calling, glassing, and chasing bulls, you will return to camp for a home- cooked meal and a warm, comfortable bed. Every day brings a new ridge to explore, a new bugle to chase, and the anticipation that today might be the day you get your shot at a Wyoming bull.
