Wyoming Archery Elk Season Report:

Wilderness Bugles, Big Bulls & a Great 2025 Season Recap

Wyoming's wilderness elk season delivered in a big way this fall and this year's archery hunts once again reminded us why so many hunters dream of chasing bugling bulls in September.

For our 2025 season recap, we sat down with SNS Camp Manager, Hunter Base, to talk about elk behavior, horseback pack-in camps, the reality of guiding these hunts, and what makes this experience so special. If you're looking for firsthand insight into the West's most authentic wilderness elk hunting, you'll want to watch the full interview below.

A Wilderness Hunt Rooted in Tradition

Our archery elk hunts take place in deep, rugged wilderness country accessed by horseback and guided by a team that has shaped this adventure since the beginning. Hunter has been part of that story for years, helping build and refine a horseback pack-in model that has quickly become one of the most sought-after elk experiences in the West.

From wall tent camps to steep timbered basins, these hunts are the real deal.
As Hunter puts it,

"As soon as we leave camp, we're hunting."

And this fall, the mountains did not disappoint. Hitting the rut perfectly, the ridges came alive with bulls bugling from first light to last, giving both hunters and guides no shortage of action.

Strong Elk Activity & Happier Hunters

Our 2025 archery elk season proved once again why these wilderness elk hunts are the ultimate test of both hunter and guide. With consistent bugling activity & 100% shot opportunity, SNS clients had several bulls taken across our wilderness camps. But success isn't measured only by filled tags, it's also measured in experience, challenge and memory. Hunter summed it up perfectly on camera:

"It's not good hunting, it's great hunting."

Those words carry weight coming from someone who has guided in multiple regions and worked in different corners of the hunting industry. Even with his extensive background in the hunting industry, stepping into the role of camp manager brought new lessons; from logistics and wrangling stock to managing a dream team of camp staff, and the daily rhythm of a true wilderness operation.

Clients Praised the Experience

One theme echoed across each of these camps this fall: happy hunters.

From the accommodations and meals to the guide staff and elk encounters, clients continually highlighted how well-rounded these hunts are. The scenery, the stock, the bugles, the wall tents, the camaraderie, it all adds up to an unforgettable experience.

We showcased several of this year's bulls in the video, and the smiles say more than words ever could.
