An Antelope Hunting Camp Tour

An Inside Look At An SNS Outfitter’s Hunting Camp

Wyoming Hunting Camp

SNS Outfitter and Guides has several camps across Wyoming where we host hunters each year. We’d like to give you a tour of one of our antelope hunting and mule deer hunting camps, and show you “a day in the life” at this excellent hunt location.

Wyoming mule deer hunting camp“Camp Envy” first earned its name when several key improvements were made, making this camp a favorite for our hunting guides. This camp is located in Northeast Wyoming, in prime mule deer and antelope hunting country. If you have a copy of our hunting brochure, you’ll recognize this as hunt number two.

With eight comfortable guest rooms, a large dining room and hot showers, it’s a fun place to spend several days of hunting. The rooms each feature twin bunk beds, carpeted floors, shelving for clothing and gear storage and a mini fridge. Complete with electricity, the rooms in this camp are heated to cut the chill on those cold, Wyoming nights.

When you tell your friends and family that you’re off to “hunting camp” you don’t have to mention that you’re not exactly roughing it. In addition to the comfortable rooms, this camp is staffed with a full time cook who provides a hot breakfast each morning and a delicious dinner after a hard day of hunting. Each morning, a lunch bar is available where you can pack your lunch and snacks for the day. The dining room is a fun place for everyone to gather in the evenings, and swap stories from the day’s hunt.

Most hunting locations require only a short drive from camp. However, some hunters may drive up to an hour to their hunting location, depending on what your guide has planned that day. The terrain surrounding this camp consists of rolling sage and juniper, steep canyons, cottonwood lined creek bottoms and stands of ponderosa pines. If you were successful on your hunt, you will find a walk-in cooler at camp to hang your antelope or mule deer, until it can be transported to the meat processor and taxidermist in town.

Wyoming antelope hunting campThe ranch we hunt here consists of 62,000 acres of prime mule deer and antelope habitat. We have been carefully managing and hunting this area for more than 20 years and it consistently produces 13″ to 15″ antelope, and a few larger bucks each year. With an excellent success rate, this is a hunt that we are always proud to offer!
