About the Hunt
Discover why southeastern Montana is famous for producing trophy mule deer during the heart of the rut. This five-day hunt, based out of Miles City, takes place on an exclusive 42,000-acre private ranch that SNS has carefully managed for trophy-quality game. The property features a mix of hayfields, timbered breaks, and rolling grasslands that provide ideal habitat for both mature mule deer bucks and thriving herds of pronghorn antelope.
Many hunters choose to add an antelope license for a combination hunt, creating an exciting multi-species experience in classic Montana country. The open terrain and strong antelope numbers make this a rewarding addition to your deer hunt. Antelope licenses in Montana are issued through a random draw, so there are no preference points required.
Each morning begins before sunrise as you and your guide head out from town to glass the open country and rugged draws where mule deer and antelope are most active. Using 4x4 vehicles and spotting scopes, we locate and evaluate bucks before planning a careful stalk for a close, ethical harvest. Hunters remain in the field all day, with a field lunch provided, before returning to town each evening.
Hunters are responsible for their lodging, breakfast, and dinner while in town. Miles City offers a range of comfortable hotels and dining options for your stay.
To draw your Montana deer license, you must purchase a preference point the year before you plan to hunt. This system ensures that hunters who plan ahead have the best chance of drawing their desired tag.

Important Hunt Information
Arrival Information:
If you are flying in for your hunt, plan to fly into Billings, Montana, the day before your hunt begins. From there, drive to Miles City, Montana, and check into your hotel in the mid-afternoon.
If you are driving, head directly to Miles City and your chosen hotel the day before your hunt, also in the mid-afternoon.
Your guide will call you prior to your hunt to arrange a meeting time and go over final details.
What’s Included in Your Hunt:
During your hunt, SNS provides your professional guide, transportation in the field, a field lunch, and care of the meat once harvested.
Licenses, personal gear, rifles, ammunition, meals, lodging, and gratuities are the responsibility of the hunter. Please note, while we do apply for your hunting license for you, the cost of the licenses is not included in the hunt.
Travel Arrangements:
While we do not make flight or hotel reservations on your behalf, we are happy to provide recommendations. Information about the preferred hotel is included in your pre-hunt packet, which will be mailed to you after booking. Hunters are also welcome to bring their own camper and stay in a local campground.
License Application Assistance:
To ensure accuracy and timeliness, we personally submit your hunting license application unless other arrangements have been discussed. The type of license required is determined by your points and the best odds for a successful draw.
