Where and How We Hunt Elk in Wyoming
SNS Outfitter & Guides hunts some of the best elk habitat in Wyoming, from the wilderness to wide-open prairie country. All of our elk hunts have excellent success rates, and each option is designed to match your goals, ability level, and preference points.
- Wilderness Camps — SNS operates three wilderness wall-tent camps in western Wyoming, each offering a true backcountry elk hunting experience. Sheep Trap and Two Rivers are traditional pack-in camps reached by horseback after a two-hour ride. Steamboat Camp is accessed by UTV from the trailhead, with about an hour-and-a-half ride to camp. All three camps are set in scenic backcountry valleys surrounded by prime elk habitat. Once in camp, all hunts are conducted on horseback to provide the best access to these remote areas.
- Camp Envy — Private Land Hunt — Vehicle-access hunt located on a large working cattle ranch. Trucks and UTVs are used to reach glassing points, then hunts are conducted on foot. This is a lower-impact option with easy access and excellent success rates.

Additional Information
- September 8–12 Archery license is a Type 9 and requires 5+ preference points to draw.
- 1:1 hunting is available on rifle elk hunts for an additional $300 per day. Archery elk hunts are guided 1:1.
- License fees are not included in the hunt price.
- The general license requires 4+ preference points to draw.
- A non-hunter option is only available at Camp Envy.
- All hunt prices are subject to a 4% public land use fee.
- Hunt dates may be subject to change depending on the season set by the Wyoming Game & Fish Department.
- Hunt prices are set annually on October 15 for the following year’s hunts. For example, if you have a hunt booked for 2027, the invoice you receive on October 15, 2026 will reflect the 2027 pricing.
