Our Summer Adventures depart from Turpin Meadow Trailhead, just outside Jackson Hole between Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. That makes them an easy addition to any Jackson Hole or Yellowstone vacation.
If you're flying into Jackson, we'll pick you up at your hotel and provide transportation to the trailhead so you can relax and enjoy the adventure from the moment you arrive.

Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of riding experience can I expect?
Our Summer Adventures are designed for guests who want the full backcountry experience, not a fast-paced horseback ride. You'll spend your days riding through beautiful wilderness, camping in remote locations, and taking in incredible scenery at a relaxed pace.
Because the Teton Wilderness is rugged, rocky, and made up of narrow single-track trails, we travel at a walk. Horses may briefly trot to catch up with the group, but we do not lope or conduct fast-paced rides.
Do you match horses to each rider?
Yes. Before your trip, we'll collect information about each guest, including height, weight, and riding experience. Riding experience is the most important factor, and we'll match each rider with the horse that's the best fit for their ability and confidence level.
How much riding do we do each day?
On a typical four-day trip:
- Day 1: Ride from the trailhead to camp (approximately 3 to 6 hours, depending on camp location).
- Days 2 & 3: Spend days enjoying the backcountry. Ride different trails, fish, hike, explore, photograph wildlife, or simply relax and enjoy camp life. We will tailor each day to the activities and pace you prefer.
- Day 4: Ride back to the trailhead after camp is packed.
Rather than moving camp every day, we establish one camp so you can spend more time exploring new trails and less time packing and relocating camp.
What are the sleeping accommodations?
Guests stay in high-quality portable canvas wall tents.
- 11' x 11' tents: Sleeps two guests.
- 14' x 14' tents: Sleeps four guests.
Tent sizes are selected based on your group's needs. We provide high-quality sleeping pads to help ensure a comfortable night's sleep.
What meals are provided?
Meals are hearty, home-style camp cooking.
- Breakfast: Hot breakfasts such as eggs, bacon, or sausage.
- Lunch: Sandwiches, fresh fruit, and trail snacks packed in saddle bags for the day's ride.
- Dinner: Options may include steaks, hamburgers, pork chops, or chili.
Filtered water is used for all beverages. Coffee, hot tea, Tang, lemonade, and iced tea are available.
What's included in the trip price?
Your trip includes your guided horseback adventure, camping accommodations, meals, and transportation between Jackson and the trailhead.
The following charges are not included in the advertised trip price and will be added to your final invoice:
- Lodging & Sales tax
- 4% Public Land Use Fee
Staff gratuities are not included and are left to your discretion.
Do you offer a group discount?
Yes. Groups of four or more receive a 10% discount. If you initially book for three guests and later add a fourth or fifth, the discount will apply to everyone in your party.
Should I stay in Jackson the night before my trip?
Yes. We highly recommend spending the night in Jackson before your trip begins. Camping is also an option.
Do you provide transportation from Jackson?
Yes. We offer hotel pickup in Jackson, transportation to the trailhead, and return transportation back to Jackson after your trip.
Can I store luggage that isn't coming into the backcountry?
Yes. Extra luggage can be safely stored in our large cargo and tack trailer at the trailhead while you're in the backcountry.
Should I arrive early to adjust to the altitude?
We recommend arriving a day or two early if possible. It gives you time to explore Jackson, Grand Teton National Park, and Yellowstone National Park before your adventure. Then you'll head into the Teton Wilderness to experience a part of Wyoming that few people ever get to see.
