Random Antelope Hunts in Wyoming and Montana

If you’re looking to book a guided antelope hunt but don’t have preference points, this is your best shot at getting in the field.

At SNS Outfitter & Guides, Wyoming’s top antelope outfitter, we’ve built a program that gives hunters the opportunity to apply for pronghorn licenses through both Wyoming and Montana’s random draw systems. This means you may still be able to hunt antelope even if you haven’t been building preference points.

Affordable and Accessible Pronghorn Hunting

Antelope hunting in Wyoming and Montana is one of the most accessible and affordable big game opportunities in the West. These hunts are known for high visibility and strong animal numbers. Demand is high, especially in units requiring only one to two preference points, and our pronghorn hunts in these areas often fill a year in advance.

That’s where our random application program gives hunters an advantage. It’s ideal for new hunters, those without preference points, or anyone who doesn’t want to wait years to draw a tag.

How the Random Draw Works

Wyoming

In Wyoming, 25% of all nonresident pronghorn licenses are issued through a random draw. Several of the areas we hunt maintain draw odds of approximately 10–20% even for applicants without preference points.

Montana

Montana issues all nonresident antelope licenses through a fully random system. In our primary hunting area, draw odds are typically around 10%. Applying in Montana can provide a second opportunity if Wyoming is unsuccessful.

How We Help Hunters Apply for Antelope Tags Without Preference Points

SNS Outfitter & Guides handles the application process for you and places you in carefully selected hunt areas that provide strong opportunity through the random draw.

If you draw a license, your hunt is confirmed for the current season. If you do not draw, you receive priority placement for the following year with guaranteed draw odds.

How to Apply

  1. Download our Booking Form, fill it out, and return it along with the appropriate license fees and a $250 deposit. Be sure to indicate that you want to be placed in the Random Antelope Draw and specify whether you are applying for Wyoming, Montana, or both to increase your chances.
  2. We submit your application. Once we receive your form and deposit, SNS Outfitter & Guides will submit your antelope license application to the appropriate wildlife agency—Wyoming Game & Fish or Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks—before the state’s deadline.
  3. If you draw a license, your hunt is confirmed. We will arrange your hunt dates and collect the remaining 50% hunt deposit to finalize your booking. Wyoming typically releases draw results mid-June, while Montana announces results around August 1.
  4. If you do not draw a license, you get priority for next season. Our office will contact you and offer first-choice hunt dates for the following year. By accepting, you will have 100% draw odds and guarantee your hunt for the next season. At this time, the 50% hunt deposit will be due. If you choose not to rebook, we will refund your license fees and deposit (minus application and processing fees).
