Wyoming & Montana Deer Combo Hunt Equipment List

Our gear lists have been built over years of guided Wyoming and Montana hunts and are proven to keep hunters comfortable, safe, and prepared for deer hunting in all seasons.

Clothing

  • Hat with brim
  • Cold weather hat
  • 2 pair hunting pants
  • 1 pair cold weather pants (wool or insulated)
  • 3 long sleeve shirts and 2 short sleeve shirts
  • 3 pair long underwear (top and bottom)
  • 1 sweater (wool or fleece)
  • 5 pair underwear
  • 5 pair socks (at least 2 pair warm wool socks)
  • Uninsulated lightweight hiking boots
  • Leather gloves
  • 10" insulated cold weather hiking boots
  • Cold weather gloves
  • Rain gear (top and bottom)
  • Heavy Gore-Tex parka

Hunting Equipment

  • Scoped, bolt-action rifle with sling (sighted in at 200 yards)
  • Shooting sticks (must extend for use from a sitting position)
  • 2 boxes of ammunition
  • Binoculars (10 power) – spotting scopes and range finders optional
  • Flashlight or headlamp with extra batteries
  • Soft gun case (for use while carrying rifle in guide’s vehicle)
  • Lightweight, quiet, frameless backpack
  • Fluorescent orange vest (legal in both Wyoming and Montana)
  • Sharp hunting knife
  • Sunglasses
  • Wyoming hunting license (if not in the possession of SNS)
  • Montana hunting license (MTFWP will mail directly to you)
  • Hunter Safety Certificate – Required if your date of birth is after January 1, 1966 (Wyoming) or after January 1, 1985 (Montana)

Personal Care

  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Toiletries
  • Chapstick
  • Sunscreen
  • Any medication or other personal items you require
