Be part of the excitement of the Montana rut with this five-day trophy mule deer hunt based out of Miles City. Conducted on an exclusive 42,000-acre private ranch in southeastern Montana, this property has been carefully managed by SNS for trophy-quality deer. The landscape features a mix of hayfields, timbered breaks, and rolling grasslands, creating ideal habitat for mature mule deer bucks.
The Montana rifle season runs from late October through Thanksgiving, offering hunters the opportunity to experience every phase of the rut. Bucks are active throughout the day, providing steady action and exceptional opportunities for those seeking a true Western mule deer adventure.
Each morning begins before sunrise as you and your guide head out from town to glass the open country and rugged draws where mule deer are most active. Using 4x4 vehicles and spotting scopes, we locate and evaluate bucks before planning a careful stalk for a close, ethical harvest. Hunters remain in the field all day, with a field lunch provided, before returning to town each evening.
Hunters are responsible for their lodging, breakfast, and dinner while in town. Miles City offers a range of comfortable hotels and dining options for your stay.
To draw your Montana deer license, preference points must be purchased. Currently, a deer combo license can be drawn with two preference points. This system ensures that hunters who plan ahead have the best chance of drawing their desired tag.

Important Hunt Information
Arrival Information:
If you are flying in for your hunt, plan to fly into Billings, Montana, the day before your hunt begins. From there, rent a car and drive to Miles City, Montana, and check into your hotel in the mid-afternoon.
If you are driving, head directly to Miles City and your chosen hotel the day before your hunt, also in the mid-afternoon.
Your guide will call you prior to your hunt to arrange a meeting time and go over final details.
What’s Included in Your Hunt:
During your hunt, SNS provides your professional guide, transportation in the field, a field lunch, and care of the meat once harvested.
Licenses, personal gear, rifles, ammunition, meals, lodging, and gratuities are the responsibility of the hunter. Please note, while we do apply for your hunting license for you, the cost of the licenses is not included in the hunt.
Travel Arrangements:
While we do not make flight or hotel reservations on your behalf, we are happy to provide recommendations. Information about hotel options will be included in your pre-hunt packet, which will be mailed to you after booking. Hunters are also welcome to bring their own camper and stay in a local campground.
License Application Assistance:
To ensure accuracy and timeliness, we personally submit your hunting license application unless other arrangements have been discussed. The type of license required is determined by your points and the best odds for a successful draw.
