1. Vision is an Antelope’s Best Defense

Forget scent and sound—sight is the antelope’s superpower. Pronghorns have near-360-degree vision and can spot movement at incredible distances.

? “You can have the wind at your back, and you might get away with some noise. But if they see you move, you’re busted.”

Tips:

• Use terrain features to break your outline

• Stay low and limit movement

• Wear effective camo that matches your terrain

2. Plan the Perfect Stalk

Since avoiding their line of sight is key, stalking strategy is everything. The terrain may seem flat, but subtle dips and contours can provide just enough cover.

Tips:

• Scout carefully using optics before you move

• Use small terrain features—gullies, grass, even cow trails

• Be ready to crawl on hands and knees for the final approach

Sometimes a perfect stalk still ends in a long-range shot. Pronghorns often feed and bed in open areas with little cover.
